I sure hope today isn't the last time I have an actual reason to wear the new Steelers sweatshirt I got as a gift from someone. The level of goofy sports superstitions has gotten rapidly out of hand here this year. I now wear a Steelers shirt or sweatshirt, drink my morning coffee out of the Steelers mug, wear the Steeler dogtags, drink a bloody mary while watching the game, and now have a cool Steelers santa hat to wear as well. Eventually it seems inevitable that I will be sporting Steeler underwear and doing some kind of sacrifical ritual in the yard the morning of the games. In any case, Here we go Steelers, here we go.
Be sure to pop on over to congratulate Mrs. Chicken on her newly impending expanding belly!
Iowa. Obama. Oh hell YES.
The work drama continues with no forward movement on the raise issue, or rather lack thereof. It is one huge clusterfuck at this point. I doubt I'll see any more money, and as such, I have some serious soul-searching to do about what exactly that means to my level of commitment to the institution. I have never interviewed for a job that didn't result in an offer. My references are over the top sparkling. Yeah, it's bragging, but I'm a damn smart girl who works hard for her employers, but when I feel undervalued and underappreciated (or not at all valued or appreciated in this case), my loyalty heads downhill fast. That said, I'm trying to have patience, grasshopper, and see how it all plays out before filtering the resume out again.
As I watch the trainwreck that is one ex-pop star who is in the news every day, I am again reminded how lucky and happy I am to be out of the hell I've lived in for the last year and a half or so. Hope everyone's new year is starting out well. It's pretty positive for me and the kidlet.
